Polycarbonate (PC) CNC Machining Services – CNC Machined PC Plastic Parts Manufacturer
Polycarbonate (PC) is another type of engineering plastic that is commonly used across multiple industries, based on its high durability, excellent dimensional stability, good strength, and notable clarity. PC plastic is easily machined, molded, and thermoformed. CNCJY is a quick-turn polycarbonate CNC machining services supplier, which has been manufacturing CNC machined polycarbonate parts and components for more than a decade. With a number of worthy machine tools equipped, we are able to produce CNC turning PC parts and CNC milling PC parts, as well as prototypes with polycarbonate materials. If you need PC products for applications that need clarity and impact strength, we’ll help you select the best manufacturing options and polycarbonate grades, such as Black Polycarbonate, Clear Polycarbonate, and Translucent Polycarbonate, and 20% Glass-Filled Polycarbonate. With the experience in CNC machining plastic like polycarbonate, we can handle complex geometries and deliver tight tolerances.
Specification of CNC Machining Polycarbonate (PC)
Polycarbonate CNC machining services at CNCJY can provide you with an efficient and cost-effective way to get high-quality & high-precision PC components. We machine different grades of PC depending on the material properties and customer requirements.

Polycarbonate (PC) Material Properties
Polycarbonates are a group of polymers containing carbonate groups in their chemical structures, which gives the material a balance of useful features, such as impact resistance, temperature resistance, optical properties, and rigidity. Then the good machinability and stable dimension make it versatile and good for CNC machining. Some examples of PC CNC parts are gears, rollers, pumps, and internal mechanical parts
|Density||Tensile Strength||Yield Strength||Hardness||Elongation at Break|
|1.20g/cm^3||72.4 MPa||70 MPa||21.7 HV||50 -120 %|
Surface Finishes for CNC Polycarbonate Parts
CNC machined polycarbonate generally has a translucent look, surface treatment like polishing can improve the transparency and remove tool marks on the surface. Other types of post-processing finishes are offered at CNCJY if you want to get a custom look.
– Anti-scratch coatings
– Vapor polishing
– Scratch-resistant coating
Can Polycarbonate Be CNC Machined?
Polycarbonate has good machinability, PC rod and plate are easy to machine and have excellent dimensional stability, which makes it possible to achieve close tolerances without a significant deal of effort. When working with PC plastic, a reliable clamping method is necessary, and certain coolants should be avoided at all costs. Coolants that are non-aromatic and water-soluble are recommended for use where surface finishes and tolerances must be extremely precise. It is possible to process polycarbonate using a straightforward metalworking machine tool, such as a lathe or a mill, however, the tool requires to be outfitted with appropriate jigs and fixtures before use. Either a circular saw or a jigsaw can be used to cut polycarbonate sheets. Circular saws are more common. When it comes to cutting longer lengths of polycarbonate, the ideal instrument to use is a circular saw.
